What is a Dealership Transfer Fee? 

Here at Auction Direct USA, we do everything we can to help you find that perfect vehicle.


However, sometimes that means finding your car, truck, or SUV at a different location and having it transferred to the store of your choice. If you’re interested in a specific vehicle that is not available at the store nearest you just let us know and We’ll Transfer it…for Free! *

 

Does Auction Direct USA Charge a Transfer Fee?

The short answer is yes…and no! We Used to…but no longer!

When a vehicle is traded to another dealership, there is often a fee to move it from one store to the other. This fee is intended to cover the costs of shipping the car between locations, IE: fuel, insurance, the driver’s salary, etc. Dealerships will sometimes include this in the cost and other times it is added on to the price without you being fully aware of it. Buyer Beware!


How is Auction Direct’s Free Transfer Different?

In the Past, Auction Direct USA charged a minimum $300 semi-refundable fee to transfer a vehicle between our Raleigh, NC and Rochester, NY stores. This fee would be waived if the customer chose to finalize the purchase and take delivery. If the customer refused delivery the fee would be retained to offset the costs of the transfer…


THAT HAS CHANGED!

Today, any vehicle transfer is now FREE to swap between stores, whether the customer chooses to purchase that vehicle or not. *All we need to initiate a transfer is:

  1. Choose the vehicle you wish to purchase, call us or submit a request on our website letting us know which vehicle and which store is closest to you.
  2. We will contact you to finalize all numbers, trade evaluations, credit applications and any questions you have right over the phone or online.
  3. Once we have a credit approval and all numbers are agreed upon, a modest, fully refundable security deposit will be required, and we will begin the transfer process!

Once the vehicle arrives at the store of your choice, any reconditioning, State Inspection, and detailed cleaning will be completed, and an appointment will be set for you to come take a look and a test-drive!

Should you choose to continue with the purchase, your security deposit will either be returned or used as credit toward any cash-due-on-delivery (COD) of your deal. In most cases you may be able to take the vehicle home with you that day!

However, if you decide the vehicle just doesn’t quite fit for some reason, we will refund your security deposit and either help you pick out a different vehicle or wait until you decide what your next step is…it’s that simple!
