Maybe we have been watching too many movies, but there is a concern of abduction when we leave someplace and get into our vehicle. While it is very rare for this to happen, we want you to be careful. To help you stay safe, we have come up with some tips:
-Be vigilant and mindful of your surroundings
-Take note if anyone is following you
-Make sure to keep your vehicle parked in a well-lit area – if possible, try to park near a light post in a parking lot
-If you are leaving at closing time, try to leave your place of work with one or more of your coworkers
-Check the back seat of your vehicle to make sure no one got in and is waiting for you
-Lock your vehicle immediately once you get inside and head on to your next destination
-Don’t linger around looking at your phone or balancing your checkbook
-Always let someone know where you are and when you are planning to return
-If a sketchy-looking vehicle is parked on the driver’s side of your vehicle, get in from the passenger side
-Carry a whistle at all times or prepare to scream if you are in trouble
