Engine Oil

Please start with the engine oil, which lubricates the engine and keeps it running efficiently. First, ensure your car is parked on level ground and the engine is excellent. Locate the dipstick, usually marked with a bright handle, and pull it out. Wipe it clean with a cloth, reinsert it, and then pull it out again to check the oil level.

The dipstick will have markers showing the minimum and maximum levels. Ensure the oil level is between these markers. If it’s low, top it off with the appropriate oil type. Also, pay attention to the oil’s color and texture. Dark, gritty oil may indicate it’s time for an oil change.

Coolant Oil

Coolant is vital for regulating your car’s engine temperature. Locate the coolant reservoir with a bright cap and transparent tank. Ensure the coolant level is between the tank’s minimum and maximum lines. If the coolant is low, carefully add the recommended type.

Remember to check coolant levels when the engine is excellent, as the system can be pressurized and hot when running. Using the correct coolant mixture is also important to prevent engine damage.

Brake Fluid

Your car’s brake fluid ensures proper braking performance and safety. Locate the reservoir, often marked with a yellow or white cap. Check the fluid level against the marked lines on the reservoir. If you notice a significant drop in fluid levels, seek professional assistance to check for leaks.

Consistently checking your car’s fluids helps you take a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance. By following these easy steps, you can maintain smooth performance and avoid potential issues. Make it a habit to check your car’s fluids every few weeks to keep your vehicle in peak condition. For additional assistance, visit our dealership at our Rochester or Raleigh locations.
